Capital City Partnership provide a monitoring resource for the three Edinburgh Outcomes that benefit from Fairer Scotland Fund (FSF) support:
Practically this means that CCP takes the lead in collecting the management data that any project funded by FSF to work towards these outcomes compiles as part of their day to day statistical monitoring. This is done annually and the resulting report forms part of the return to the Scottish Government.
As the lead agency for delivering Outcome 2, CCP has a particular interest in the employment situation in the city. As a result, monthly statistical updates are completed that provide a picture of changes in the employment situation in the city. These research reports are used to help inform decision making within CCP and within the wider partnership.
Whilst these form the focus of monitoring and evaluation at CCP, discrete evaluation and research projects are often undertaken either to evaluate the success (or failure) of pilot programmes or to look more deeply at issues that the Partners have identified as of interest. These evaluations and thematic reports tend to be published on the CCP website.
In the past one of the monitoring and evaluation tasks has been to collect a significant amount of data related to deprivation, ill health, educational attainment, crime, etc. As monitoring on the Single Outcome Agreement is now a responsibility of the City of Edinburgh Council, CCP no longer do this in the detail they once did. However, some data is still collected and disaggregated to reflect geographies of the city, primarily to ensure a data set is available to support the needs of the Team and of Partners, if not to provide reports to the Scottish Government.
